Terms & Conditions

  • These Terms & Conditions govern the operation and membership of the Funeral Support UK (FSUK), a Non-Profit Making Organisation. By applying for membership or making any contributions, you agree to comply with the following terms:

1. Membership Eligibility

  1. Only UK permanent residents and citizens are eligible to join.
  2. Tourist visa holders are not eligible for membership.
  3. Children can be registered by their parents/guardians.
  4. The member will pay £50/year to keep their membership active.
  5. Each member will contribute £25/£10 per UK/non-UK death respectively within 30 days of being notified.
  6. Members who fail to contribute to two consecutive funerals within the stipulated period will be deactivated without refund, however if a member is going through financial constraints they are required to notify FSUK so that their membership can be paused. However their beneficiaries/relatives cannot claim during this period. Once the member is out of financial constraints they will have to pay all accrued arrears to continue their membership.
  7. Once a young member turns 18, they may assume full control of their membership and continue payments independently while retaining the same membership number.

2. Claim Eligibility / Beneficiaries

  1. A minimum of six (6) months of active membership is required before making any claim.
  2. Only UK-issued death certificates will be accepted for full claims (up to £9,000 depending on active members).
  3. Claims supported by non-UK death certificates will be issued a flat £2,000 payment. (Depending on active members)
  4. The beneficiary must provide a copy of the membership ID/passport of the deceased and a death certificate
  5. Each member must provide details of up to two next of kin or beneficiaries upon registration.
  6. In case where two listed relatives/beneficiaries are unable to claim, then any relative/family member can claim, however they will need to provide the ID of the two listed relatives/beneficiaries and the ID of the deceased + death certificate.
  7. Once payment is made, no further claims from additional beneficiaries will be accepted and we are not responsible for how the beneficiary uses the money.
  8. Payments will be made only via bank transfer.

3. Management / Use of Funds

  1. Membership fees will be used for management and expenses such as website hosting and domain, social media management + marketing + transaction fees + admin fees, etc.
  2. Committee members and trustees are exempted from paying annual membership fees, but they must contribute to each funeral like other members.
  3. Management may add or replace members as needed, and all members will be notified of any changes.
  4. All contributions collected are used exclusively to support members and 20% will be used to maintain operations.
  5. Full financial transparency is maintained and reports may be made available upon request.

4. Membership Cancellation

  1. Members may cancel their membership by giving 30 days’ written notice to FSUK.
  2. Upon cancellation, the member will be refunded that year’s full membership fee.

5. Cessation of the Fund

In the unlikely event that FSUK ceases operation, all members will receive a refund of the current year’s membership fee.

6. Fraud and Verification

  1. To reduce fraudulent claims all members/beneficiaries must agree to allow the Funeral Support UK to verify death certificates through the relevant local council.
  2. FSUK reserves the right to verify all information provided.
  3. The UK Police will be notified of anyone suspected of making fraudulent claims.

7. Donations

  1. Individuals who wish to support the Funeral Support UK (FSUK) can make donations through our official website (https://funeralsupport.org.uk/donate/).
  2. If donations are received, 20% of the total amount will be used to cover the organisation’s running costs, ensuring smooth operation and sustainability.
  3. The remaining 80% will be used to reduce member contribution amounts for upcoming funeral(s), helping ease the financial burden on our community members.
  4. All members will be notified whenever donations are received and informed of how the funds are allocated.

8. Suicide Clause

  1. Deaths resulting from suicide will not be covered under any circumstances.
  2. This clause is implemented to prevent misuse and to discourage individuals from taking their own lives.

9. Natural Disasters Clause

  1. If something extraordinary and beyond the organisation’s control happens – such as a natural disaster, war, pandemic, major economic collapse, or government restriction – and because of that event the Funeral Support UK (FSUK) is unable to process or pay claims on time, the organisation cannot be held legally responsible for those delays or failures.
  2. In the event of multiple deaths caused by large-scale natural disasters (such as earthquakes, tsunamis, or severe storms), FSUK will not be liable to process or accept any claims.
  3. This clause ensures the Fund’s financial stability and long-term sustainability during extraordinary circumstances beyond its control.
